Ukraine`s Yeva Serdiuk and Daria Romaniuk delivered an exceptional performance throughout the women`s tournament in Austria, winning all seven of their matches in straight sets to secure their first continental gold medal. Their previous achievements include U18 European silver in 2021 and U19 world champions in 2022. In the Baden semifinals, the Ukrainian duo triumphed 2-0 (28-26, 21-14) against Switzerland’s Muriel Bossart and Leona Kernen, before achieving a decisive 2-0 (21-16, 21-18) victory over Czechia’s Katerina and Anna Pavelkova in the final.

The 19-year-old Pavelkova twins also reached the final undefeated, having dropped only one set during their campaign. Teo Rotar and Arthur Canet of France, who were U19 world champions in 2021 and U20 European champions in 2023, have now added a second age-group European title to their impressive collection. Their team’s medal count now stands at seven from youth world and continental championships. They dropped only one set during their seven-game victorious campaign in Baden. In a fiercely contested semifinal, Rotar and Canet overcame Austria’s Timo Hammarberg and Tim Berger with a narrow 2-0 (22-20, 23-21) victory, before sweeping the final 2-0 (21-14, 21-18) against Latvia’s Olivers Bulgacs and Kristians Fokerots.

Bulgacs and Fokerots, who previously earned U20 and U22 continental bronze medals two years ago, improved their standing by taking silver this time. Their six-consecutive-win streak in Baden culminated in a hard-fought 2-0 (21-19, 23-21) semifinal victory over Lithuania’s Karolis Palubinskas and Povilas Piesina.

Hammarberg and Berger rebounded from their semifinal loss to the eventual champions by securing a 2-0 (21-18, 21-8) victory in the third-place match against Palubinskas and Piesina. This earned them their fifth age-group medal, adding to their 2021 U18 European bronze, 2022 U20 European gold, 2023 U20 European silver, and 2023 U21 world silver.
